How many times do you read an article about technology and wonder **what to believe**? How much is **hype** and how much is real? This week we introduce our **Cautionary Canadian Critic.** With more than **35 years experience** in the technology world, from architect to design to consulting on difficult issues, Alan Smithers, Chordia Consulting Associate (and, of course, Canadian), brings his expertise and keen analytical mind to bear on current articles about today's **technology issues**. We've asked him to read an article every week (or so) and tell us what he thinks is **real** and **what needs a little extra scrutiny**; in short, to give us his opinion about where to be just a little **cautionary**. We hope you find his writing **interesting** and **provocative**. You can find his first blog [here](/content/post/cloud-for-competitive-advantage-in-2019/index.html).

We look forward to your **comments**.

Good article!
